WHAT IS CASC?
The Certified Administrator Surgery Center (CASC) credential is a distinction earned by those in the ASC industry with a comprehensive understanding of the knowledge and skills that the role of an ASC administrator requires.
The Board of Ambulatory Surgery Certification (BASC) is the organization that administers the CASC exam.
WHO IS CASC FOR?
This credential is for those with a comprehensive understanding of the skills and knowledge that the role of an ASC administrator requires.
Those individuals who have earned their CASC credential include ASC professionals in a wide variety of roles, including administrators, medical directors, directors of nursing and clinical staff.
I felt that earning the CASC credential would verify my commitment to my role as an administrator, my organization — governing body and staff — as well as the patients my center serves.
Maintaining the credential requires me to remain current in all aspects of the certification: financial, regulatory/legal, human resources, quality and patient care. This enables me to be prepared for the future. When you earn the credential, you are regarded as being among the top in your profession and are highly respected by your peers. It is also an accomplishment one should be proud of. I know I am.
